In a world first, New Zealand artist Peter Richardson is having a simultaneous showing in art galleries around the world in the year 2015.
The artist’s artwork is a hybrid style, fusing traditional paint, pastel, and charcoal with digital illustration. Richardson says that “the internet means that thousands of people around the world can be looking at the same thing at the same time, and so this meta-showing turns that idea back on itself with physical canvas pieces of digitally printed artwork being shown in real world art galleries in countries the world over. It’s about bringing the connectedness and shared experience of the digital medium into the real world”.
